A dental 3D cone beam X-ray is used when regular 2D X-rays are not sufficient. This 3D scan is used to show a 3-dimensional image of your teeth, nerve pathways and bone in one scan. This is used for treatment planning of impacted wisdom teeth removals, diagnosing TMD, accurate placement of implants, evaluation of cracked roots, detecting or monitoring growths and or tumors and locating the canals during a root canal procedure.
